Geopolitics & Internet Governance

The COVID-19 pandemic has led to an increased use of the Internet globally. While more people come online, several regional/national regulations and legislations impacting how the Internet is governed and used, are being put in place. New technologies are also continuously emerging with the acceleration of digitization across the global economy. Given this backdrop, this session seeks to discuss the relevant impacts of geopolitics on Internet usage, as well as the importance of multistakeholder involvement and collaboration in addressing possible challenges and opportunities.
